Trip To Surrey, British Columbia Canada
In the midst of Fred's immigration paperwork for his US Green Card, he was required to get a checkup and blood work done by an immigration doctor. This required us to take another road trip. Only this time we would be going towards Vancouver, B.C. Canada. This trip was a 1,381 km drive from our home, but as this was the closest doctor, what were we to do? This was very important to get done and, hey, if it meant taking time off work and having a small vacation together, who were we to argue and complain? So began our long trip to Surrey, B.C. Canada...
Fred and I loved Surrey. It wasn't quite like other parts of Canada, but we loved the culture there. It was like stepping into a different country all together. We agreed that it would be most like India. The shops sold foods, clothes, and house hold items from India. The homes were very much like the gated rich homes in India and everywhere you looked there we immigrants from India. We spent all of our free time walking all over Surrey and learning about the different cultures of these people. We enjoyed every moment of it and, believe it or not, we can't wait to go back. I'm sad to say that I didn't get any pictures while we were in Surrey, but the memories we have there will last us a life time.

So very close to the US border, yet so far away!
