Vacationing In Michigan!

Fred and I greatly enjoyed our trip to visit with my beloved family, of whom we haven't seen since July 2012, as my Permanent Residence paperwork kept us from travailing outside of Canada.  We were able to spend two amazing months with them and enjoyed sharing some very precious moments with them that we didn't want to miss out on.

Fred and I had been communicating with mom a few months before we left for our trip, as we really wanted to surprise everyone and needed her help to accomplish this.  As the time came closer, however, and Fred hadn't been to work for days because everything in the oil fields had slowed down for the Spring, we decided to leave a week early, but didn't tell mom we were on our way.  We figured it would take us at least four days to drive across Canada and the States in order to make it to mom's house and as we looked at the calender we found that we would make it to her place the day before Mother's day, if we had "smooth sailing".  This, of course, was the reason we didn't inform her of our leaving... and who wouldn't want to surprise their mom too, right?

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

Mother's Day Family Photo

Although we surprised mom and Grandma Davis, who was living with mom at the time, the day before Mother's Day, mom was still able to help us surprise the rest of the family!  I wish you could have seen the reactions of everyone those two days.

Bear & Casey's Puppies

James and Sharon's dogs had puppies a few weeks before we came to visit and we enjoyed them for about  month, as it wasn't long before they were old enough to sell... and boy did they ever go fast!!!!

Team Work

We had a thunderstorm in Michigan a few weeks after we got there and it sent one of the big branches, on the tree in the back yard, crashing down unto mom's roof.  We had quite the clean up to do, thankfully it didn't do damage to the house or the roof.

Girls Night At Grandma Stockman's House

The girls spent to nights at mom's house and we all had a blast!  We made breakfast together and then I painted their finger nails and toe nails.  We also had a bonfire, which the whole population of pesky bugs decided to crash...

Their First Time To Lake Michigan

The girls had been asking for a trip to Lake Michigan and as it would be their first time of even seeing it I was looking foreword to see the looks on all four of their little faces and of the memories we'd be able to make there. We all had a wonderful time and, yes, the water was REALLY cold.

John Ball Park Zoo In Grand Rapids Michigan

What can I say?  We all love going to the zoo and seeing the wild animals that live there.  There were a few new ones, including a few baby animals.

It was really good seeing everyone again and we miss them dearly, but we know that God has a purpose and a plan for us and right now it means living 3,419 km away from our dear family in Michigan.
